Hazardous Waste

E-Waste
The term "e-waste" is applied to consumer electronic equipment that is no longer wanted. E-waste can include computers, printers, televisions, VCRs, cell phones, fax machines, stereos, and electronic games. Electronics may contain lead, copper, and other heavy metals or potentially toxic substances.

It is critical to reduce e-waste by only buying what you need, reuse electronics that still work, and finally recycle electronics at the end of their useful life cycle. Click on the link below for a calendar of Los Angeles County E-Waste drop off events.

Drug/Medication Disposal
Do not flush unused, unwanted, and expired medications down the toilet or put them in drains.

How should I dispose of my medications?

  1. Take your unused medications to a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center or Event*; or

  2. Put your unused medications in a sturdy, securely sealed container, then in a trash can where children and animals can’t reach them.

*The drop-off events are free of charge. They are located throughout the County of Los Angeles.
